Blackouts are another concern for restaurants

Local | By Correspondent December 14, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Restaurant Association, CRA, believes that the need for restaurants is very high and that they should receive financial compensation as soon as possible.

In addition to all corona measures, various blackouts have now been added. In addition, there is also the still-old alcohol ban, the organization emphasizes. According to CRA, the situation is becoming unsustainable for more and more restaurants.

The Curaçao Restaurant Association is arguing harder than ever for compensation for the sector. "It cannot be the case that so many factors minimize the possibility of returns and the government does not compensate for it," CRA said.

Waiting any longer is not an option, according to the organization. The organization also wants to propose to the government to extend the closing time of restaurants, so that more visitors can be spread in restaurants and people can meet each other in a safe manner.
