WILLEMSTAD - Yesterday afternoon, a boat ran aground at the Santa Barbara inlet on its way back from Fuik. Multiple attempts to free the boat were unsuccessful.
The coast guard was alerted and dispatched two Metal Shark units to assist.
These attempts also failed, and it was decided to transfer all people on board safely to the nearest dock. The coast guard was assisted by a young man with a Seadoo.
The owner will need to find other solutions to free the boat at a later time.
