Local | By Correspondent March 16, 2021

KRALENDIJK - Not only in Curaçao but also in Bonaire the number of corona infections is increasing rapidly. Today 62 new cases have been registered on our sister island. This means that the number of infections on Bonaire is now 298. As is known, six corona patients have died since last year. There are now six people infected with COVID-19 in the hospital, none of them in intensive care.

That is why the island is going into lockdown again, Lieutenant-Governor Edison Rijna announced today. From Thursday, March 18 there will be a curfew (21:00 - 04:00). Also, no alcohol may be served or sold on the whole of Bonaire. The schools and childcare will close their doors until after the Easter holidays. The measures apply for the next 2 weeks.
