WILLEMSTAD - Liemarvin Bonevacia has qualified for the final in the 400 meters at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. The Curaçao athlete qualified in the semifinals with a new national record of 44.62 seconds.

With his third place in the semi-final, he secured a place in the final. Not only did he set a new national record, he was also a tenth below his own top time.
Bonevacia is the first athlete to play for the Netherlands who has ever managed to qualify for the final of the Olympic 400 meters. He is making history with this.
The 400m final is scheduled for next Thursday, 8.00am Curaçao time.
