TOKYO - Liemarvin Bonevacia failed to pull off a stunt in the Olympic 400m final in Tokyo. The Curaçao born athlete broke down in the last 100 meters this morning and ran a time of 45.07, a few tenths slower than his Dutch record in the semifinals.
Getting to the final was an achievement. It was the first time that a Dutchman was in the Olympic 400-meter final. The gold went to Steven Gardiner from the Bahamas, with 43.85 which is more than a second faster than Bonevacia.
