WILLEMSTAD - Burney Fonseca does not want to go back to the SDKK prison in Curaçao at all. His lawyer, Marije Vaders, has asked in preliminary relief proceedings that the transfer from the Netherlands be reversed.
The reason is that his security situation is unchanged and an attempt on his life cannot be ruled out.
The man who has been sentenced to 26 years for his role in the murder of politician and Member of Parliament Helmin Wiels has twice before been able to prevent the Public Prosecution Service in Curaçao from wanting to take him to the SDKK prison. Each time, Fonseca managed to prevent this by means of summary proceedings.
