WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Business Association (VBC) has looked with amazement and horror at reports about a large renowned resort that would treat its staff as slaves. The association said this in a press release.
VBC wonders whether Curaçao should be interested in attracting other tourist markets. In recent years there has been a lot of talk about attracting "high end" American tourists, because this group would spend more money. However, VBC wonders whether 5-star resorts actually contribute to improving the Curaçao economy.
According to VBC, investors should be looking for sustainable development of the island's economy and raising the workforce to a higher level.
