WILLEMSTAD - Employees of the Capriles Kliniek, part of the Mental Health Foundation (GGz), protested this morning against non-payment of their salary. This took place at the ABVO union center in Brievengat. The management of the clinic was in a meeting with the government at the time.
Since last Thursday, the foundation has been unable to pay salaries to the staff of the Capriles Clinic due to the crisis in the health care, especially the mental health sector. When the employees still had not received a salary this morning, they went on strike. They were received by one of the union leaders, Kenneth Bremer.
“The staff of the Capriles Clinic must remain at the union building until we have heard from the mental health management about the salary measures,” said Bremer. According to the board member, solutions for the financial situation in the healthcare sector are being investigated.
