Caribbean Delegations to Meet New Dutch Parliamentary Committee on Kingdom Relations Behind Closed Doors

Local | By Correspondent December 4, 2025

THE HAGUE – The parliamentary delegations of Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten, who will travel to the Netherlands next month for the InterExpo Congress, are scheduled to meet with the newly constituted Dutch House of Representatives Committee on Kingdom Relations on 8 December.

The introductory meeting has been allotted a two-hour time slot, though it remains unclear which Dutch MPs will attend. According to the official parliamentary agenda, the session will take place behind closed doors and will not be broadcast via the House’s livestream platform.

The encounter comes at a time when several key issues—ranging from financial supervision and governance reforms to geopolitical tensions in the region—are high on the agenda between the Caribbean countries and the Netherlands. The confidential nature of the meeting underscores its sensitive character, particularly as the new committee begins shaping its approach to relations within the Kingdom.

The InterExpo Congress, which focuses on economic cooperation, investment and innovation across the Kingdom, will bring together government officials, parliamentarians and business representatives from all four countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
