Local | By Correspondent August 19, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - Kas di Korte (Court House) started the Caribbean Summer Court on Monday. The internship is intended for Caribbean university law students with above-average study results.

The Joint Court of Justice states that there was a lot of interest among students for the Caribbean Summer Court. Rajeev Sanchez (University of Curaçao), Fleur Eichhorn (University of Amsterdam) and Eloise Torres (University of Leiden) were eventually selected to do internships at the Court.

During the internship period, the students get a good idea of the judicial work, they are allowed to assist the judge at a hearing as a court clerk and they are introduced to the Civil Law, Criminal Law and Administrative Law teams.

On the first day of the internship, the three were sworn in as clerks by the President of the Joint Court of Justice, Mauritsz de Kort.

The Caribbean Summer Court was also organized in Aruba in June.
