WILLEMSTAD - The three students who started the Caribbean Summer Court in August have successfully completed the summer internship. The internship is intended for Caribbean university law students with above-average study results.

Rajeev Sanchez (University of Curaçao), Fleur Eichhorn (University of Amsterdam) and Eloise Torres (Leiden University) spent three weeks with the Court House in Curaçao. The students got a good idea of the judicial work and were allowed to assist the judge at hearings as court clerks. They also got acquainted with the teams of Civil Law, Criminal Law, and Administrative Law.
On the last day of the summer internship, Sanchez, Eichhorn, and Torres attended a practice court as judges, officers, and court clerks. The students were presented with their certificates of participation at a judge's home.
The Caribbean Summer Court is organized annually during the summer period. The purpose of the internship is to motivate students to later become part of the Caribbean justice system.
