WILLEMSTAD - Catching up with all surgeries will take months. That is according to Health Inspector Sirving Keli.
A surgery stop was introduced at the Sint Elisabeth Hospital (Sehos) in July and since then they have only been carrying out urgent operations. The elective, non-urgent, care has since stopped.
Now that the new hospital has been open since Friday, these surgeries must be resumed little by little. Sirving emphasizes that the number of operations that have not been performed has increased enormously in recent months, so that catching up will take months.
