WILLEMSTAD, PHILIPSBURG - The governments of Curaçao and Sint Maarten have requested the CBCS to make preparations for the introduction of a Caribbean guilder as a replacement for the Netherlands Antillean guilder.
Undersecretary for Kingdom Relations Raymond Knops has also announced an IMF investigation that explores the possibilities of introducing the dollar as well.
These recommendations will become decisive in the final decision for the currency of both islands.
