BRIELLE - Container numbers 100 and 101 have arrived! The board members of the Foundation Help the Schoolchildren of Curaçao are justifiably happy and very proud. The reason for this is that within five years since the foundation of the Foundation they have been able to assist the island with an average of twenty containers per year.
The Foundation knew that those involved, such as the ministry, school boards and teachers, were doing their utmost to achieve a lot with few resources in the schools. The furniture left a lot to be desired, the teaching materials were minimal, the working environment was neither acceptable for the teachers nor for the children to be able to work successfully on the future and therefore also the literal future of the island. It was then jointly decided to selflessly make a difference for the island and especially the children.
Last week the 100th container that the Foundation brought to Curaçao was delivered to the Albert Schweitzer school in Saliña and container number 101 went to the Goilo school.
The 100th container was filled to the brim with furniture from CBS Anker from Brielle. The CBS Anker team members are happy that this furniture has found such a good destination.
“When ordering our new furniture, we made clear agreements with the supplier Schilte about the reuse of the furniture. It is heartwarming to hear how happy and grateful the Foundation is that we were able to help them with a large amount of school furniture,” said Jessica Verweel and Daphne Lobs, directors of CBS Anker.
Last week the team members were still busy getting all the classrooms in order for the children, so that the doors of school can open again on Monday!
