WILLEMSTAD - The Financial Supervision Board (Cft) sent a letter on 12 June to the Minister of Finance Kenneth Gijsbertha.
In this letter, the Cft gives an opinion on the progress of public finances in the first quarter of 2019. The tone in the letter is negative. The committee indicates that the deficits in 2018, it now appears, are even higher than expected and that the deficits will also increase in 2019.
The government's declared commitment stop remains ineffective, according to the Cft. They want an explanation of this from the minister in the short term.
