WILLEMSTAD - This year's Charlotte Köhler Prize for visual arts goes to Sharelly Emanuelson. This allows her to further develop her starting artistry.
The incentive prize of the Cultuurfonds (Culture Funds) includes an amount of 30,000 euros. According to the jury, she has an important function in creating a professional art climate on Curaçao and the other Caribbean islands that share the link with the Netherlands.
In 2010 Emanuelson founded UniArte, a platform that helps to professionalize up-and-coming artists in Curaçao.
