WILLEMSTAD - The interest group for the Curaçao hospitality sector, the Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association (CHATA) is concerned about the impact of the lockdown on tourism and the hospitality sector. The measures make an exception for overnight tourists, but otherwise, the lockdown is very disadvantageous for hotels and other tourist companies, says CHATA.
The director of the organization, Maria-Helena Seferina-Rojas, states that hotel guests are allowed to eat in the hotel restaurant and go to the hotel bar. But for attractions, car rental companies, and other companies in the tourism sector, the lockdown is very disadvantageous. CHATA hopes that the measures will have the necessary effect quickly and that the vaccination program will be implemented as soon as possible.
