CHATA Pays Working Visit to Governor of Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD – On Friday, December 12, 2025, the Chief Executive Officer of the Curaçao Hospitality & Tourism Association (CHATA), Ms. Anuschka Cova, paid a working visit to the Governor of Curaçao, His Excellency Mauritsz de Kort. Ms. Cova was accompanied by members of the CHATA Board, including Ms. Mimi Luttge (Chair), Ms. Peggy Croes (Vice President of the Board), Mr. Jeffrey Speelman (Secretary of the Board), Mr. Thomas van Balveren (Board Member), Mr. Omar van der Dijs (Board Member), and Mr. Antoin Klein Hofmeijer (Board Member).

During the visit, the CHATA Board briefed the Governor on current developments within the tourism sector, which remains a key pillar of Curaçao’s economy. The discussions focused on trends, challenges and opportunities facing the hospitality industry, as well as the sector’s role in sustainable economic growth.

The Board and the Governor also exchanged views on the importance of strong and transparent communication between government and the private sector. Both sides emphasized that close cooperation is essential to ensure targeted economic development, long-term sustainability and resilience within Curaçao’s tourism industry.
