WILLEMSTAD - Anyone who has the Dutch nationality at birth can no longer lose it just because the Dutch father no longer recognizes the child.
This is according to the Common Court of Justice. A Venezuelan mother was afraid that her child would be stateless, because her country does not automatically consider children born outside of Venezuela as Venezuelan.
The child has since been recognized by another Dutch man, but that does not matter according to the court.
