WILLEMSTAD - The old cinema in Punda, the Cinelandia will finally be demolished. The building has been a sore spot for eyes right at the entrance of the historic zone of Willemstad.
The demolishing work of the Art Deco building will commence hopefully in the first quarter of this year. Minister of Spatial Planning, Zita Jesus-Leito confirmed this in the media.
The minister informed that only the monumental facade remains because it is a protected monument. It is not yet clear what will be built behind the facade. But one thing is for sure, the old dilapidated construction will disappear.
