WILLEMSTAD - According to sources, the contract for the parking management in the inner city has still not been signed. Downtown Management Organization (DMO) and Otrabanda Business Owners Societry (SKO) have not yet seen a contract.
The two organizations have jointly established the Willemstad Parking Management Foundation. Not a incorporation, as previously thought, but a foundation because they say they want to pursue a transparent policy. This is according to DMO chairman Mahesh Mukhi. According to Mukhi, everything is ready for implementation and the contract should already be signed in January.
DMO and SKO have argued for the takeover for years. They want to use the acquired funds from the parking machines to maintain the city center and make it more attractive. In addition, the retailer associations want to make it easier for visitors by using an application.
