WILLEMSTAD - Uptown clothing store on Breedestraat in Punda was robbed early Tuesday morning. Surveillance footage shows a group of five criminals breaking open the store's doors with a sledgehammer and storming into the shop.

The burglars parked a white Suzuki van in front of the store, through which they forcefully entered and immediately began their raid. A security guard standing near a café down the street witnessed the incident. He took immediate action, which did not sit well with the criminals. They got into a scuffle with him and attempted to take his phone.
The police, a security company, and the robbery team arrived at the scene. An investigation was promptly initiated, aided by the information provided by the surveillance footage. The stolen loot consisted mainly of branded clothing, which the police note is becoming increasingly common in robberies.
The white van was found later in the day in the Veeris neighborhood. The Suzuki was easily identifiable because the robbers had left a clothing hanger on one of the doors.
As of now, no arrests have been made.
