CMC in cooperation with Inspection is investigating a patient’s complaint

Local | By Press release May 26, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - The board of Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) has taken note of a circulating interview in the media, in which a former patient speaks out about her experiences from 2019 at SEHOS. The CMC immediately initiated an internal investigation into the matter. The CMC will also fully cooperate with the Public Health Inspection Service, which has also launched an investigation into this specific case. In addition, the CMC has also decided that the specialist will not perform any surgeries or have outpatient appointments during the investigation, with the aim that it can be conducted as transparently and objectively as possible.

The board of the CMC strives for constant improvement and renewal when it comes to the services that the hospital provides to its patients. During the transition from SEHOS to the CMC and during the period that followed, the CMC has already taken a number of measures to improve existing processes, with the ultimate aim of improving its services and customer experience in the hospital.

Every patient can count on serious and careful treatment of their complaint. Through this route, the board and staff of the CMC want to emphasize that optimal service and customer experience are central. The CMC requests all (former) patients who wish to submit a complaint about their experiences with regard to the services of the CMC to contact the Complaints Department directly by telephone number 745-0000 (extension number 1260 or 1261) or by e-mail address klachten@cmc.cw.
