CMC will only receive money if it comes under guardianship

Local | By Correspondent March 13, 2023

WILLEMSTAD - The ailing CMC hospital can receive an advance but will then come under government guardianship. That is the purport of the letter that Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas has sent to the board of the new hospital.

The advance will be paid monthly depending on the liquidity position of the hospital and is intended for the payment of salaries and debts to suppliers of critical resources and supplies.

The authorized person who supervises the financial situation on behalf of the government will approve the expenditure. The Supervisory Board should take its responsibility and put things in order. The government has no confidence in the Board of Directors.

“If the CMC does not cooperate with the change of course desired by the government, the government will provide other solutions, now that the CMC no longer meets the conditions to maintain its license as a healthcare institution, or at least a hospital facility.” According to Pisas.
