Coalition party PNP stands up for Jamila Isenia

WILLEMSTAD - Head of Tax Inspectorate Jamilia Isenia will keep her job. Last weekend, coalition partner PNP stood up for her. According to the party, local professionals should be treated better.

PNP faction leader Sheldry Osepa confirms this in a post on his Facebook page.

Finance Minister Javier Silvania recently announced a new management team. This team would direct the Tax Inspectorate as well as the Receiver and the Tax Audit Office. And would be responsible for the reorganization and modernization of the Tax Department.

The change of leadership would come at the expense of the current head of the Inspectorate. Isenia would remain on as a 'ruling inspector', a very important function for the commercial financial sector of Curaçao, according to Silvania.

However, PNP has put a stop to this. "The way Jamila Isenia has been treated after she gave her all to the community is totally wrong," Osepa said this morning.

“Obviously things are going wrong in all government services. This is often because the government has no money to invest. Anyone who has ever been a civil servant knows that. But it is unjust to dismiss  a modest woman, because she is the most delicate," the Member of Parliament said on Facebook.
