WILLEMSTAD - Yesterday the Coast Guard received a report from the fire brigade that a tourist who was on the St. Christoffelberg needed assistance. The man had fractured his ankle during his walk. The rain made the trails on the mountain very slippery and unsafe to evacuate the man.

The fire brigade therefore requested the assistance of the coast guard helicopter to lift the man from the mountain. After the report of the fire brigade, the RCC of the Coast Guard sent the helicopter to St. Christoffel Park to assist the man. The man was then taken to the Coast Guard base at Hato airport, where an ambulance was waiting for him.
