WILLEMSTAD - Yesterday morning, the Coast Guard's Rescue and Coordination Center (RCC) detected a suspicious contact on the radar heading towards the island of Curaçao. The RCC immediately directed the cutter Jaguar to the location and requested the Curaçao Police Force for assistance as the suspected contact was close to the coast. Upon arrival of the police at the site, several bales of drugs were found in the "mondi" (bushes).

At sea, the cutter Jaguar has stopped the boat with the three men on board, which were heading south. The three men, including two Colombians and a Venezuelan, have been handed over to the KPC. The four bales with about 217 kilograms of marijuana and a backpack have been seized by the police for further investigation.
