WILLEMSTAD - This year, the same number of Venezuelans were intercepted by the Coast Guard as last year. This is according to Shalick Clement, spokesperson for the Coast Guard.
In 2018, 240 people with Venezuelan nationality were arrested in the waters of Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao. This year it is about the same.
It is striking that a large proportion, almost 100 people, have been arrested in recent weeks.
