WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao pays more than 15 million guilders for the coast guard operations in the Caribbean. That is in their annual plan 2022.
The total costs amount to almost 100 million guilders. The Netherlands accounts for 70 million guilders, the rest, 15 million guilders is for Aruba and Sint Maarten. The biggest portion is spent to maintain equipment, more than fifty million guilders.
For staff, more than thirty million are allocated. On top of the operating budget, nearly forty million guilders are allocated to investments for, among other things, a detection system, and the Metal Shark.
HATO support center and air exploration capacity are paid entirely by the Netherlands.
