WILLEMSTAD - A number of restaurants on Curacao will have to close their doors permanently in the coming weeks. This is according to Egon Sybrandy of the Curaçao Restaurant Association (CRA), now that Dutch tourists are staying away en masse due to the code orange advice.
On top of curfews, dry law, and prohibition of indoor diners, staying away from tourists is the final blow for many restaurants. The restaurant association is appealing to the government for extra money and/or some relief from the restaurant rules, otherwise several restaurants may not make it.
