Code Yellow Issued for Rough Seas Along Curaçao’s North and East Coasts

WILLEMSTAD — The Meteorological Service of Curaçao issued a code yellow alert for rough seas on Monday morning, affecting the north and east coasts of the island.

Small vessels are advised to navigate with caution due to unfavorable sea conditions. Swimmers are urged to remain close to shore and stay alert, particularly along exposed coastal areas. According to Meteo, the weather alert is valid until Tuesday at noon.

Weather Forecast

For today, the Meteorological Service expects partly cloudy conditions, accompanied by fairly strong winds and little to no rainfall. Some localized showers are forecast for early Tuesday morning.

Winds will blow from the east, ranging from moderate to fairly strong at force 4 to 5, with occasional gusts reaching force 6.

Outlook

Looking ahead through Wednesday afternoon, conditions are expected to be partly to occasionally heavily overcast, with an increasing chance of showers toward Wednesday morning. Wind speeds are forecast to gradually decrease over the coming days.

Authorities continue to advise residents and visitors to monitor official weather updates and take necessary precautions while the code yellow remains in effect.
