COHO will cost 2.1 million euros in staff this year

Local | By Correspondent December 3, 2021

THE HAGUE - Although not yet officially established, the Caribbean Organ for Reform and Development (COHO) will cost the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations 2.1 million euros in personnel expenses this year.

This is apparent from the amendment to the 2021 budget of Kingdom Relations. The establishment of COHO awaits the legislative process which has not yet started. Because COHO's tasks cannot wait, they are provisionally performed by the Temporary Work Organization (TWO).

It is unknown when the COHO law will be presented to the parliaments of the countries Curaçao, Aruba and St. Maarten for consideration. That should have happened a long time ago, but apparently the governments can't agree.
