PHILIPSBURG - The cooperation between the islands of Curaçao, Aruba, and Sint Maarten is expected to help find solutions to the problems that all three islands are facing. This was stated by the President of Parliament Charetti America-Franciska during the tripartite meeting of the islands on Sint Maarten.
She mentioned the issues in inter-island aviation as a common problem. She explained that there is still room for improvement in this regard, especially concerning the financial positions of the islands.
She also addressed the democratic situation on the islands. Within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, it is often said that it is a country driven by the voice of its citizens, but residents of the islands may not always feel aligned with this statement.
Moreover, the chairperson discussed the ongoing issue of poverty that Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten are confronted with every day.
America-Franciska suggested that the most obvious and effective solution to all these problems is providing better education for all children.
