WILLEMSTAD - Colombian pilot Guillermo Cortés Núñez has been missing for more than a month. The 23-year-old man was last seen in Curaçao. He arrived at Hato on June 10, and since then there has been no trace of him.
Cortés Núñez was looking for work in aviation and for that he left for Curaçao. He stated to his father that he would work at Falki Aviation. However, nothing is known about this at Falki, company representatives say they have never spoken with him.
Just before his disappearance, Guillermo sends out photos and videos, which show that he is at work. He even sends pictures of hangars, but doesn't say anything about the location of the recordings.
It is not clear to Father Omar whether his son has been hired or not, has found work. He only said that he worked for someone who had planes and made private flights to islands like Bonaire and other nearby islands, Father Omar says.
Guillermo is a boy of few words. He is rebellious, says father Omar. In the last message he sends via WhatsApp, he writes: Cuchos, don't worry, I'm flying, I'll talk to you when I get back. That was 46 days ago, since then there has been no sign of life.
Father Omar has done everything possible, right down to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They listened to him, gave him answers that went beyond diplomatic answers. But so far they haven't reported a plane crash from any of the islands, they think it's a disappearance. If it was a kidnapping, ransom would have been demanded by now.
The pilot is 1.70 meters tall, has a slim build, has light brown skin and dark eyes.
