WILLEMSTAD - The Ministry of Economic Development wants to adjust the rates of public transport. The fare for the small and medium-sized buses is increased between five and fifteen cents. The increase depends on the route.
The Social Economic Board (SER) advisory body has comments on this. The rates of the mini buses have been set too high for years. The SER calls for a study into the purchasing power of users of public transport. The advisory body assumes that the buses now carry fewer passengers due to the high inflation of 2021 and 2022.
