Committee for modernization Free Zone

Local | By Correspondent August 19, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - A committee is being set up to advise on the modernization of the Free Zone in Curaçao. The committee must come up with proposals for current legislation and regulations. Because the customs of Curaçao plays a crucial role in the proper functioning of the economic zone, the committee will also advise on upgrading the staff.

The customs procedures will also be examined and partnerships will be entered into with other countries. The establishment of the new commission follows a visit by Minister of Finance Javier Silvania to the free zone of Cartagena in Colombia. “Specifically, we looked at how they attract internationally certified companies from other countries,” said the minister.
