Community centers dissatisfied with Minister Koeiman

Local | By Correspondent May 17, 2019

WILLEMSTAD - The community centers on the island are struggling with staff shortages and the promised partial payment of the electricity and water bill is no longer being made.

The association of community centers Unsebako had a conversation with minister Hensley Koeiman about this at the beginning of April, but the minister has not fulfilled the commitment to come up with a solution within two weeks.

‘After waiting 7 weeks, they are fed up and the association has sent a letter to the minister.

According to the chairman of Unsebako Junny Sluis, he can put his anger aside to look for a solution with Koeiman. If that does not work, other steps will follow, which he cannot yet say what.
