Conjugal visit in prison is not a human right

Local | By Correspondent January 17, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - The question is whether to have special rooms for conjugal visits are necessary in prison. This is reported by the Advisory Council, which is of the opinion that the argumentation used in the bill proposal to regulate these special rooms is not convincing.

For example, the reasoning is incorrect that abstaining from having sex with your partner in prison constitutes a violation of human rights. Also, conjugal visits would not necessarily contribute to a better return to society.
