WILLEMSTAD - The construction of “The Wharf”, the project of luxury apartments at the Kleine Werf, is progressing according to plan. That was announced last weekend.
“The Wharf” is an initiative of Curaçao Ports Authority in collaboration with JCC Development. The project of nearly 20 million guilders started in January last year. The construction phase, in which the foundation is reinforced by means of pile driving activities, has recently been completed.
The construction of the foundation itself will start shortly, followed by the construction of the apartments. Building the foundation takes a few months.
The developers expect this project to contribute to an increase in commercial activities in Punda and the surrounding area. "That is why the continuation of projects that add value to the economic development of Curaçao, especially in these challenging times, is very important,” according to a press release.
The phase 1 project consists of 31 high-quality apartments in the top segment, four city apartments and 1000 m² of commercial space for restaurants and shops.
The apartments are all accessible from the private parking garage downstairs via a private lift that comes directly into the entrance area of the houses. All apartments have a storage room adjacent to the parking garage.
