WILLEMSTAD – The Corps Consulaire Curaçao, led by Dean Ralph Obersi, together with the owners of Circo Hermanos Suarez, hosted a special and heartwarming evening on Wednesday at the circus grounds, offering a full performance to patients and caregivers from the Stichting Zorg voor Gehandicapten (SGR).
A total of 118 SGR patients and their caregivers were invited to enjoy the show, creating what organizers described as a truly memorable experience. As the performance unfolded, patients visibly relaxed and became increasingly engaged, with organizers noting a growing sense of joy and excitement throughout the evening. “It was a very beautiful night,” those involved said, highlighting the emotional impact the event had on everyone present.
In addition to the SGR guests, Uniting For Children, led by its president Julle Tidey, sponsored 15 children to attend the performance, further expanding the reach of the initiative.
The broader project aims to provide approximately 400 schoolchildren with the opportunity to experience the circus. Thanks to the collaboration between the organizers and Circo Hermanos Suarez, the initiative was able to extend beyond its original scope to include the additional 118 SGR patients and caregivers.

Representatives from several SGR facilities were present, including SGR Salbach Weg, SGR Kee, SGR Richard Pieternela, SGR Kirindongo Abou, SGR Noord Sapate Phase 2, SGR Kas 46, 24, 28 and 30, as well as SGR LvB.
The organizers expressed their sincere gratitude to the management of Circo Hermanos Suarez for their essential cooperation, noting that the evening would not have been possible without their commitment. According to those involved, the event stood as a powerful example of how community collaboration can create meaningful moments and lasting memories for some of Curaçao’s most vulnerable residents.
