WILLEMSTAD - With the new school year approaching, parents and students have a wide selection of school supplies available at Bruna, Casa Cesar, and Mensing’s Caminada. These stores offer 57, 51, and 49 different items respectively, making them the top three according to the latest price survey by the Fundashon pa Konsumidó (Consumer Foundation).
Between July 9 and 16, the Consumer Association, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development, conducted an extensive price survey at sixteen different stores. During this survey, prices of 63 commonly used school items were recorded.
This research did not focus on price comparison, as the prices of school supplies in Curaçao are not subject to government-regulated maximum prices. As a result, each store is free to set its own prices.
Participating stores included Office Stop, La Curaçao Zeelandia, Curaçao Office Supply, Multicentrum 2000, Super Barata, Office System, Home Plus, Samson, Martis Agencies, Alankar, Señor Barata, Building Depot, and Good Friends.
