WILLEMSTAD - The international chaos in container transport by sea is causing delays in the supply of products to Curaçao. This is according to Robbin Martina, chairman of the importers association of Curaçao.
For the time being, this does not result in empty shelves, because according to Martina importers have at least two months of stock in house. This can happen through panic reaction and hoarding behavior of the population. This is a worldwide problem: 50 to 70 percent of international journeys do not go according to schedule. Specifically for Curaçao, the stricter corona measures also play a role.
