WILLEMSTAD - The Group of 6, consisting of Fundashon Rif, Boneco, Fundashon Parke Nashonal, ProMo, Amigu di Tera and Pro Tur, recently met with the owners of Corendon Hotels & Resorts.
The purpose of the meeting between the parties was to get acquainted. The incident in May concerning the removal of the mangroves and the damping of channels was also discussed. The meeting has revealed common ground that lends itself to cooperation around a vision for the hotel and tourism in the Rif area.
Both parties are committed to the implementation and enforcement of sustainability principles in various areas, so cooperation has been looked into to join forces in this area.
This joint action can, for example, be done at a social level, for example by involving both young people and other residents of Otrobanda and the surrounding area in future tourism developments.
In this meeting, the parties agreed that it is extremely important to continue together in a responsible manner, to inform each other and to work together in creating innovative tourism concepts.
This creates a solid bond and a win-win situation for all parties involved. It has been agreed to set up a "think tank" together that will shape joint development proposals for now and the future.
