WILLEMSTAD, AMSTERDAM - If Curaçao completes its ultimate Caribbean football fairytale next week by qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Dutch-Turkish travel company Corendon plans to celebrate in a very special way.
In tribute to head coach Dick Advocaat and his longtime assistant Cor Pot, the company will temporarily rename itself “Corendick” for one day, De Telegraaf reported today.

Corendon has been the main sponsor of the Curaçao Football Federation (FFK) since 2024. “It would be an unbelievable achievement if Dick and Cor manage to pull this off,” said Martin de Boer, Corendon’s commercial director.
De Boer explained that the playful gesture is meant to honor the coaching duo for their dedication and leadership.
Curaçao currently sits second in Group B of the Concacaf qualifying campaign, just one point behind Jamaica. The group winner will automatically qualify for the World Cup, set to take place in Canada, Mexico, and the United States in the summer of 2026.
For the island nation and its passionate fans, a spot on football’s biggest stage would mark a historic milestone — and for Corendon, it would be reason enough to turn the skies “blue and proud” under the name Corendick.
