PHILIPSBURG - Ten of the thirteen people who have died of coronavirus on Sint Maarten so far were immigrants. Some of them were illegally staying on the island.
According to Prime Minister Jacobs, Sint Maarten would not have had thirteen corona deaths if the patients had previously gone to the doctor. The island has a high population density. Officially 133 inhabitants per square kilometer. According to the prime minister, this could be the reason for more cases of infection.
