Corona measures tightened up for restaurants and supermarkets, among others

Local | By Correspondent August 31, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - More stringent measures apply to prevent the spread of the corona virus on the island. That was announced by the government during a recent press conference. The Ministry of Economic Development (MEO) and the police will check this strictly.

Sneks and bars can allow a maximum 25 clients.

Restaurants: in principle 50 clients at a time, if the capacity allows this. They are only allowed to use half of their capacity to ensure that visitors can keep their distance from each other. Visitors must be registered.

Supermarkets / toko's: the rules have also been tightened in supermarkets and toko's: only 2 people per household are allowed in at the same time. Children under 16, too, are allowed in. The payment machine must be disinfected after each use. There may be 250 in a supermarket at the same time.

At home a maximum of 50 people are allowed during events.
