WILLEMSTAD - The counter of the crowdfunding campaign by Gerrit Schotte is currently at 400 guilders after 10 days. The aim of the promotion is to raise a total of 2 million guilders.
This way the convicted political leader of the MFK party wants to avoid having to go into jail for another three years. He was previously sentenced to three years in prison for official corruption.
Schotte incidentally filed an appeal in the confiscation case, so the ruling on the 1.8 million is not yet certain.
