WILLEMSTAD - Cpost International releases new stamps in collaboration with artist Mirjam Griffioen. The theme of the stamps is 'the Goat'. Goats have played an important role in Curaçao for a long time.

Different types of goats are painted on the stamps. The artist likes to paint animals and is particularly fascinated by goats. According to Griffioen, goats always look at you in a 'crazy way', which makes her like to paint the animals.
A goat's pupils are horizontal so that they can see everything when they are grazing, including possible danger. “When you look at goats, they look at you, and when you smile they smile too. I think the goat is a nice, cheerful and friendly animal, which is great!”, says Griffioen.
The background colors of the stamps are very colorful. Each stamp has a different background color, which together form the colors of the rainbow. According to Griffioen, the link with color makes sense. “When you think of Curaçao, you think of color. Each goat also has its own natural color, which gives a nice contrast," says the artist.
