WILLEMSTAD - The savings and credit cooperative ACU has started legal proceedings against the group that tarnishes the image of the organization. A group of disaffected members is currently holding a signature campaign to call a general meeting of members. According to board chairman Angelo Davelaar, the accusations they make are not correct.
According to Davelaar, there is nothing wrong with ACU's financial situation. As a result, the cooperative has weathered the corona crisis well. ACU has asked the group of disaffected members to rectify their statements. This has not happened to this day. That is why ACU is now taking legal action.
ACU has over 28,000 members. The structure of the organization is currently being reorganized. To steer this restructuring in the right direction, the central bank has appointed two silent trustees. It concerns Thomas Domhoff and Altagracia Poulina.
