Cultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied Holds Meeting at Governor’s Palace and Bids Farewell to Former Members

WILLEMSTAD – The Cultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied (CCG), the Culture Fund Caribbean, held a formal meeting on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the Governor’s Palace in Willemstad. The gathering was chaired by CCG chairman Lionel Janga and attended by other members of the board as well as staff of the fund.

During the meeting, a plenary session took place, which was officially opened by the Governor of Curaçao in his capacity as statutory advisor to the Cultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied. The session provided an opportunity to reflect on the fund’s work and ongoing role in supporting cultural initiatives in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.

The occasion was also used to formally say farewell to outgoing members of the CCG, namely the Governor of Curaçao, His Excellency Mauritsz de Kort, and Ossandra Lewis-Nieuw. Both were thanked for their service and contributions to the fund.

The Cultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied emphasized the importance of their involvement in strengthening cultural development and supporting artists and cultural organizations across the region.
